In our daily life, we ​​face various problems with the skin and one of them is Psoriasis on the Head. It is also known as Scalp Psoriasis. By hearing the name we can understand where the disease occurs. Scalp psoriasis occurs on the skin of the head and can occur alone or with body psoriasis.  

Psoriasis occurs not just on the head. There are different types of psoriasis. Such as: 

Psoriatic arthritis.
Erythrodermic psoriasis
Nail  psoriasis
Guttate psoriasis etc. 


Scalp psoriasis is often misunderstood or can confuse if someone has a problem with dandruff. There are many other diseases with which scalp psoriasis has to be confused. Such as Fungal infections, and tinea capitis. For this reason, through various diagnoses, the doctor decides whether the patient has got scalp psoriasis or any other problem.

Dry Scalp
Itching.
Silvery-white scales
Hair Loss etc


when a patient gets psoriasis on the head is limited to the skin on the head and it does not spread beyond that limit. And when seborrheic dermatitis occurs, the skin of the head becomes oily. 


Causes of Scalp Psoriasis:

The cause is usually genetic but the conditions of a flare-up of scalp psoriasis are winter, stress and weight gain. 


Treatment of Scalp Psoriasis: 

If the doctor is sure that the patient has psoriasis after proper investigation, then he/she starts treatment. For the treatment of scalp psoriasis, skin specialists usually prescribe keratolytic shampoos, as well as anti-inflammatory shampoos, soft shampoos, and some scalp lotions. In addition, if necessary, the doctor also gives drugs.


There are different treatments for different diseases on the scalp. Therefore, the diagnosis must be made properly before the treatment. This is because the patient's recovery can be ensured only through proper treatment if the disease can be diagnosed correctly.
